Hold Please! The Wonder Is In The Wait

Scripture Foundation – Matthew 15:21-28

{Wait – stay where one is or delay action until a particular time or until something else happens}

We are constantly waiting whether we are at a traffic light, doctor’s office or checkout line. What do you do when you have to wait on God?

What about when God is slow in responding to a prayer we’ve prayed?

What do you do when you have to wait on God?

Psalm 27:14 says; “ Wait (in faith) on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!”

Based on the Word of God, the Holy Bible, whenever you are on hold, if you will commit your all to Jesus:

He will speak to your personal need.

He will speak peace to your Heart.

He will give you strength for your trying days.

He will give you wisdom in what to do in a given situation.

He will give you His presence in the time of loneliness.

He will give you courage when you are forsaken by family or friends.

Whatever, the need is, Jesus is all you need.

If it is salvation, Jesus is your Savior.

If it is a comfort, Jesus is your Comforter.

If it is advice, Jesus is your Counselor.

If it is Healing, Jesus is your Healer.

If it is wisdom, Jesus is your Teacher.

Jesus is right for whatever is wrong in your life.

Will you place your faith in Jesus while you wait?

Whatever your situation is .. divorce, addictions, sexual Sins, job loss, financial troubles, loss of  a loved one, health problems, an injury, problems with children, problems with family or abusive situations, etc

(Matthew 15:28)  Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

When you have to wait for the answer, keep your eyes on Jesus.

Keep your faith in God.  The glorious wonder is in the wait!

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (Psalms 27:14)

Hope: a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.

  • Worldly hope is a combination of wanting and expecting. Wishful thinking that you will get what you are wanting.
  • Biblical hope is very different than worldly hope. Here are the 5 types of biblical hope:

Experiential Hope

Experiential hope is optimism in my current circumstance, because of what I have experienced God do in my other circumstances.

Unshakeable Hope

A reservoir of strength in life’s storms. Unshakeable hope is hope that provides a solid anchor, securely fastened for the strongest storms of life.

The Blessed Hope

The absolute guarantee that Jesus will come again and things will be wonderful.

Hope that is a permanent work of the Spirit

This type of hope is a fruit of the Spirit, that all believers can always expect.

 Hope that reflects personal desires

The bible would call this type of hope the desires of your heart.

The 3 Dangers of Deferred Hope

  1. Depression – This is the simplest meaning of the text in Proverbs where it is called a sick heart. Proverbs 13:12 – Hope deferred makes the heart sick,   but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
  2. Hindered Prayer Life – A sick heart is sick in more than one way. A dangerous result of hope deferred is that some people turn from God in that situation.
  3. It provides an opening for a spiritual infection.
  • Germs get in through wounds
  • Doctors are more concerned about infection than splitting your sternum open.
  • Hope deferred can be like a cut in a person’s spirit, and if they are not careful an infection of temptation can slip in through that wound.

Hope deferred has led to many a single person taking up with the spawn of the devil. Be careful in a season of depression that you don’t go looking for solace in all the wrong places.

God is a faithful God working in our behalf, how can we keep from praising him? Even when things look bad, we can continue on with hope.

  • Admit our problems honestly
  • Talk to God about them
  • Wait before him in prayer and meditation on the word
  • When he speaks, listen, obey, and believe.

Love, Light, and Healing

What’s the G.L.U.E.? God Loves Us Eternally

There is nothing that has been created in time, or space can alter the love that God has for you.

Dictionary Definition –  Love- an intense feeling of deep affection.

Bible Definition – Love – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 New International Version (NIV)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Open Sesame! Watch God Work (Master Key)

5/15/18 Lesson Discussion: Open Sesame with the Master Key! Watch how God works! When Jesus gives you a Kingdom Key, it means He is giving you authority and access to unlock a specific element within the Kingdom of God. God possesses the master key. Our key must be in sync with his key in order to gain ACCESS and AUTHORITY. Just as two keys are required to open a safe deposit box; the bank master key and our key, if those keys are not a match – ACCESS DENIED to the contents of the safe deposit box.
